One person killed in shooting as gunman flees New York subway

On an elevated train platform in the Bronx, New York City experienced a tragic incident when a shooting occurred. One person was killed and five others were injured during rush hour, which took place around 4:30 p.m. at the start of evening travels. This time is known for being hectic in train stations as many children return home from school and commuters begin their evening trips.

According to reports from authorities, a young man was killed in the shooting. The New York City Fire Department spokesperson stated that four of the five injured were taken to hospitals with serious injuries. Despite this, no further details have been provided by the police on what happened, but they have announced that a manhunt is currently underway for the shooter who fled the scene.

Efrain Feliciano, 61, recounted his experience to the Daily News: “I saw two children screaming when the train came,” he said. “There were at least six shots.” He added that he saw sparks when bullets hit the wall and a woman holding a screaming child in her arms. The police suspect that the shooting resulted from an argument that ended with one person pulling a gun and are actively searching for either the shooter or shooters involved.
