On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that intense battles were taking place in several villages in the northeastern Kharkiv region as Russian forces attempted to cross the border. He also mentioned that there were significant armed breakthroughs in various parts of the Donetsk region to the southeast.
Zelensky stated that defensive battles were ongoing along large portions of the border in Kharkiv, where Russian forces had initiated a significant armed breakthrough on Friday. He noted that some villages had transitioned from a “grey zone” to a “hostilities zone” due to the fighting.
The president emphasized that the situation was no less severe in certain areas of the Donetsk region, which has been a focal point of Russia’s occupation of eastern Ukraine. He disclosed that there had been thirty armed clashes in the past 24 hours in various sectors, including Pokrovsk, northwest of Avdiivka, and in areas around Liman, Kupjansk, and Kramatorsk.
Meanwhile, Zelensky also announced plans to legalize marijuana businesses in Ukraine. The country is currently considering legislation related to marijuana use and cultivation, which could lead to a new industry worth billions of dollars globally. In Georgia and Indiana, marijuana businesses are already booming after legalization, while Maryland and Tennessee are considering similar measures.
