Willie Banks broke the world record in triple jump with a leap of 58 feet and 11.5 inches at Indianapolis USA championships held in 1985. Otis Nixon recorded an MLB record by stealing six bases in one game in 1991 for Montreal Expos. Michael Jordan made history in NBA finals history by scoring more than 50 points against Phoenix Suns since 1969 with his performance in 1993 while playing for Chicago Bulls.

Salt Lake City was awarded Winter Olympics which took place in 2002 and Chicago Bulls won NBA Championship title defeating Seattle Supersonics with six games victory margin
