The Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Korean Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups (MSS) have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation in developing the startup ecosystem. The MoU covers several areas, including scientific research, technology development, innovation, startups, and human resource training.
Under this agreement, both sides will collaborate on exchanging information, organizing seminars and conferences, conducting joint research, and providing human resource training. The Ministries will also facilitate training and guidance for young staff on technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation. They will exchange information on research materials, publications, teaching materials, and reference materials related to technology and innovation.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam and South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck Soo. This collaboration follows previous initiatives within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Korea. The two countries have been working together to promote the startup ecosystem and exchange human resources through various activities.
The Ministry of Science and Technology is also exploring partnerships with Korean organizations to enhance commercialization capacity, develop innovation centers, and facilitate open innovation. The Department will collaborate with Korean corporations to implement activities on open innovation and social innovation, aiming to promote knowledge sharing and capacity building.
