Wharton High School’s Top Six Data Science Competition Teams Gear Up for the Finals

The Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative (WSABI) is currently in the final stages of the Wharton High School Data Science Competition: Soccer Playoff Predictions. Since February 2024, teams of high school students from around the world have been analyzing data from a simulated professional soccer league to predict playoff outcomes.

Out of the 25 semifinalists selected to present their findings on March 22, WSABI has chosen the top six teams that will advance to the competition’s first finals. These finalist teams include CR North, FC TAMS, HW_AnalyticsFC, MVHS Analytics, SMGolden State Analytics, and STEM Wolves, all from high schools in different states.

The final event will take place virtually on Wednesday, April 3, where these finalist teams will present their findings to a panel of judges. To find out who will emerge as the winners of this inaugural competition, follow the WSABI website and Wharton Global Youth’s social media platforms for updates.
