WhatsApp Restores Service Following Global Outages – DW – 04/04/2024

On Wednesday, thousands of WhatsApp users reported issues with the messaging service, owned by Meta Platforms. According to tracking website Downdetector.com, tens of thousands of outages were reported. However, the problem was resolved over three hours later when WhatsApp announced that they were back up and running.

During the outage, over 24,000 users in the United States were impacted. In India, nearly 46,000 users reported problems, with around 82,000 users in the United Kingdom and over 88,000 users in Brazil also experiencing issues. Additionally, more than 5,000 Instagram outages were recorded during the same time period.
