The Winter Olympics coverage on WB was impressive, with the commentary booth featuring professional riders such as Carlsson + Gwin being a standout. It was also nice to see Reece make an appearance, showcasing his potential as a future TV personality.
While the overall track coverage was excellent, there were some weak points in terms of camera angles. Some shots, such as the ski jump into the final area, were taken from too high up, diminishing the excitement of the finish area. Other camera angles made the track appear flat compared to previous broadcasts.
However, there were positive aspects of the show that made up for these shortcomings. The slow-motion replays were exceptional and greatly enhanced the viewing experience. Additionally, drone footage was very effective in capturing unique angles and provided a refreshing perspective on the action.
One improvement that could be made is cutting back on shots of team managers mid-run and opting for a smaller window to show them instead. Overall, it’s clear that WB is making efforts to enhance their broadcast and provide a better viewing experience for fans.
