Vinecki takes first place in aerials World Cup in Lac-Beauport, regains top spot in World Cup standings

On a day with rain and clouds in Lac-Beauport, Canada, Winter Vinecki earned her third individual win of the season in the aerials event. Athletes had to adjust their game plans due to the challenging weather conditions.

The U.S. team had a strong showing in the competition, with five women and two men advancing to the finals. Among them was Winter Vinecki, who missed out on the previous day’s finals but qualified for the second position on Sunday.

In the finals, Vinecki almost lost her balance, but her score was enough to put her in sixth place and advance into the super finals. Chris Lillis fell hard in the finals but managed to avoid injury.

In the final round, Vinecki came out on top by performing a back lay-full-full as the only woman attempting a triple. This led her to her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season, earning her the yellow leader’s bib.

After a rest and training period, the team is headed to Almaty, Kazakhstan, for their final World Cup of the season on March 10th.
