The Globe offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training

The Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom will be hosting a training on Youth Mental Health First Aid on April 20. The training, led by facilitators from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is specifically designed for individuals who work with young people.

The goal of the training is to equip attendees with the skills to recognize signs of mental illness, identify signs of substance use disorder, offer support during a mental health crisis, and engage in conversations with family and friends about mental health. This training is intended for adults only and will include a light breakfast served at 7:30 a.m. as well as lunch provided for all participants.

In addition to the valuable skills gained from the training, participants will also receive a $25 gift card and a certificate of participation upon completion.
