In Cairo, recent indirect talks between delegations from Hamas and Israel focused on achieving a truce in Gaza. However, after two days of negotiations, no clear results were achieved as reported by Egyptian state television, Al Qahera News.
According to a security source close to Egyptian Intelligence, the delegations from Hamas and Israel left Cairo without an agreement. Despite the presence of mediators and both parties, there were still unresolved controversial points. While Hamas did not provide reasons for their withdrawal from Cairo, they did confirm their commitment to accepting the truce proposal presented by the mediators. Egypt warned of the danger of escalation in the region if an agreement is not reached between Israel and Hamas.
Representatives from Islamic Jihad and other Palestinian factions joined the negotiations, indicating progress in resolving disputed points and moving closer to reaching an agreement. The truce proposal accepted by Hamas includes various phases aimed at achieving sustainable calm in Gaza and improving conditions for civilians in the region.
Despite ongoing challenges such as Israel’s recent military operation in Rafah leading to further tensions in the area, efforts are still underway to find a consensus formula and reach an agreement between Hamas and Israel.
