Health Plan Resource Guide for Hospitals and Providers Affected by Cyberattacks issued by HHS

Hospitals and health systems affected by the recent Change Healthcare cyberattack can now access a national resource guide of health plan contact information, which has been released by the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This guide is aimed at helping providers overcome the significant disruptions they are facing as a result of the cyberattack.

In a letter introducing the guide, HHS, ASPR and CMS encourage hospitals to review the voluntary cybersecurity performance goals that were released earlier this year. Additionally, resources provided by the AHA Change Healthcare cyberattack update webpage can be accessed for up-to-date information on the cyberattack. These resources include an announcement from CMS on accelerated and advance payments to impacted hospitals and physicians, frequently asked questions, and an informational bulletin on actions states can take to assist Medicaid providers affected by the cyberattack.

For further questions or information, individuals can reach out to Molly Smith, AHA group vice president of policy, at mollysmith@aha.org.
