NBC Chicago is seeking a suspect in child sex abuse case at the Museum of Science and Industry

On Saturday, Chicago authorities issued a community alert about a sexual assault that took place at the Museum of Science and Industry on Thursday. The incident involved a 10-year-old girl who became separated from her group and was approached by a suspect who offered to help her find them.

The girl was taken to the museum’s second floor and asked to use the restroom, where the assault occurred. While she was in the restroom, the suspect entered the room, crawled under the stall door, and inappropriately touched her. The girl reacted by kicking towards him, causing him to flee from the restroom.

The suspect is described as a man between 30 to 40 years old, weighing 160 to 180 pounds with a height between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. He is believed to have curly light brown hair, a beard and a tattoo of roaring lion on his neck.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at (312)492-3810.
