Owner explains why video allegedly shows N.J. fire chief vandalizing rare Nissan sports car

Mark Bahna, the owner of a rare 1995 Nissan Nismo 270R, has claimed that a New Jersey fire chief was caught on camera damaging his prized sports car. Joshua Scolnick, the fire chief in question, is accused of dumping rocks, mud, and gravel onto the car while it was parked next to the firehouse in Piscataway where he works.

Bahna has stated that he specializes in collecting and selling Japanese sports cars and that his car is one of only two remaining 1995 Nismo 270R’s in the U.S., with his being car number five out of the original 30 produced by Nissan in 1995. He claims that Scolnick was upset about rainwater from his sump pump seeping over to the Arbor Hose Company #1 next door on West 7th Street and took matters into his own hands by damaging Bahna’s car.

Despite attempts to reach out to Scolnick and the parties involved, no responses have been received yet according to attorney Mark Speed. CBS New York reached out to the firehouse where Scolnick works but did not receive any responses. Piscataway Fire District No. 3 also did not respond to messages. Police have disclosed that Scolnick was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and released on a summons complaint.
