Muncy’s senior pitcher Nolah Moyer and catcher Taylor Shannon led their team to a dominant 13-0 win over Bucktail, securing a second consecutive Mid-Penn championship. Moyer, a Division I St. Bonaventura commit, threw a one-hit shutout, went 3 for 3 at the plate, homered, and drove in five runs. Shannon also had a big day, going 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs.

Muncy finished the league campaign undefeated for the second straight year. The game started with Moyer quickly putting Muncy on the board with a two-run home run in the first inning. She added two RBIs with a bases loaded single in the second inning, extending the lead to 5-0. Shannon then hit a three-run home run to make it 8-0 in favor of Muncy.

Bucktail’s Gianna Balchun broke up Moyer’s no-hit bid in the fifth inning with a hit. Despite the loss, Bucktail heads into their final week of the regular season preparing for a matchup with Jersey Shore. Muncy, on the other hand, remains undefeated and will face Mifflinburg in their next game.

Kaylyn Rice and Casey Fry contributed with doubles for Bucktail, with Rice driving in a run and Fry scoring three times. The final score was Muncy 13, Bucktail 0 in five innings. Moyer picked up the win on the mound, while Wagner took the loss for Bucktail.
