Tajikistan has imposed a ban on travel to Russia for its citizens due to Russia’s actions in connection with the fire at the Moscow concert hall. The ban was advised by Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Muhriddin, who urged citizens not to travel to Russia unless absolutely necessary.
Russia has arrested individuals from Tajikistan in relation to the fire incident, and in March, Tajikistan also arrested nine individuals suspected of being connected to the Moscow concert hall attack. The attack was claimed by the jihadist organization Isis, with the actual perpetrators believed to be from the Central Asian branch of Isis-K. Some of the terrorist suspects arrested were reported to be Tajik citizens.
The situation surrounding the ban on travel to Russia for Tajik citizens is ongoing and continues to be monitored by authorities. The safety and security of Tajik individuals in relation to events like the Moscow concert hall attack are a top priority for both Tajikistan and Russia.
